Like many of the tracks, this one is the score to a particular scene in the imaginary TV show that is Elysian Road. Unlike other tracks of this nature, however, “Pro-Gamers” is the score to a sequence that was only mentioned once at the very end of Elysian Road’s first season: The ending credits. This piece was written as the sort of thing you would find played during the ending credits of a movie or TV show. It’s a medley of most of the main themes in Elysian Road, in order of their position in the overlays on the Twitch show: Evelyn, Odd, Tyl, Fergus, and finally Dylan. These character themes are bookended by two different variations of the main theme, the theme for Void’s Grace (or the crew of Void’s Grace).

I decided to limit myself to three different categories of instrumentation in this track, to give it a more cohesive nature. Many of the themes had been played on all sorts of different instruments, and I quickly realized that if I tried to structure each section off of those instruments, the piece would feel very disjointed. So, I decided to scale back and only use strings, brass, and a drum kit for this one. I wrote the piece in almost its fullness in what was likely the span of four hours, late at night, knowing that I had already gone over the deadline I had given myself for having a first draft finished up to send out to alpha listeners.

I really liked the way I got to play around again with familiar themes and try to bring them to life once more, and I think I managed to pull off something pretty incredible with this last piece. It might be the one I’m most proud of. I also got to recycle a few things that I hadn’t ended up using in other parts of the album—particularly the intense spiccato string arpeggio version of Tyl’s theme in the middle of the piece.
