We Fight Together

This track is another one of those proverbial “concert pieces” I was telling you about. “We Fight Together” is not present in its entirety anywhere in the imaginary TV show that is Elysian Road, and honestly the theme presented here (Dylan and Odd’s love theme) would likely not be played that often even in snippets, due to the fact that their romance hasn’t taken on the sincerity and depth that this track seems to imply. This track is the second one I composed, and it was done so before I really knew what I wanted Elysian Road to be, musically, where each track represented one episode of the show. I chose this track to be placed here, at episode four, since the main thing that happens in that episode is Odd and Dylan go on a date, but the track itself is probably more of a look ahead to what might be in the future between Odd and Dylan when the show continues. Hopefully it doesn’t end up as tragic as the theme seems to present, but honestly, knowing my GMing style and the characters involved, it’s more likely than not.

The track is very electronic, involving some haunting guitar and an underlying pad that set the tone as being very serious. It’s the piano arpeggio that really inspired me originally to write this track, since it just oozed romanticism to me, and quickly led to me developing the string theme overlayed on top of it. I highly enjoyed working with this track, and despite it being only the second track that I composed, the final version is relatively unchanged from my original incarnation of it back in November. There’s not really a whole lot else to say in terms of context or instrumentation, since the rest of it really rather straightforward.
