Zeva's Warm Welcome

Enter Zeva. An orphan whose adopted family was killed in the attack of the Xanlis Murder Beasts on Evangelia, she was quickly taken under the wing of Evelyn and Dylan after the battle and offered a place on their ship (since the crew felt largely responsible for her family’s death and she seemed attached to Evelyn and Dylan). This track is for her—it is a “concert piece” again, giving a thematic representation to the character. Tragic, soft, yet hopeful, a good amalgamation of Zeva’s character in the show. I especially like how I was able to pull off the “Xanlis instrument” sounding optimistic in the dramatic end section, despite it being rather ominous and gritty in most of the other places it’s used.

The title of the track comes from the name of part one of episode eleven, where Zeva is introduced to the crew and given a place among them. I’m very interested in Zeva as a character, learning from the crew and gaining skills while being with them, and I am excited to see where her narrative arc goes in the future, in the second season of Elysian Road. There’s not a whole lot else to say about the track!
